Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Pre-Assessment
Before taking the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment for the first time, students must complete the required Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA). The PAA provides information about the assessment, available resources, and what to expect before testing.
What is the TSI Pre-Assessment and why do I have to take it before testing?
Students taking the TSI Assessment for the first time must complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) before testing. The PAA prepares you for the assessment by providing the following information:
-
An explanation of the importance of the TSI Assessment
-
Practice test questions and feedback
-
An overview of your developmental education options if you do not meet the minimum passing standard
-
Information about campus and community resources available to support your success
The College Board also offers a free TSI Assessment web-based study application to help students prepare for the assessment. The study tool includes practice questions and allows you to become familiar with the types of questions asked on the TSI Assessment.
Practice tests are available for Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, College-Level Math, Reading, Comprehension and Sentence Skills. The study application can be accessed from a tablet, smartphone, or computer using a standard web browser.
